GO Torino?

I'm curious if there were ever any GO Torinos, especially '70 models. I know that a customer could special order just about anything, depending on the manufacturer, which led to a lot of "one of one" cars back then. But I don't recall ever seeing a Torino in GO.

A '70 Torino GT in GO with a white (or black) interior and the SCJ package would have been a showstopper. I wonder if it ever happened.....anyone ever see such a car?

Wow, I'd love to see photos of that one! That encourages me.....if there was a GO Spoiler ordered, I'll bet someone, somewhere, ordered at GO Torino.

I loved those Torinos, every year of them. Almost as much as the Mustangs back then - maybe even a little more in some cases. The '70 SCJ GTs were killer machines - one ate my lunch one Sunday morning when I was out horsing around in my '66 GTO.....the only time I ever got beat on the street in that car.

Wow! How cool is that! Nice detective work, too! Is that Sweden, or Denmark, maybe? Wonder how in the world it ended up over there, and if there are any more here.....

These are the codes for the colors available on 70 Torinos:

EXTERIOR COLORS AND CODES

Black . . . . . . . . . A Medium Blue
Bright Gold Metallic K Metallic . . . . . . . Q
Bright Yellow . . . . . D Medium Gold
Dark Blue . . . . . . ..X Metallic . . . . . . . S
Dark Ivy Green Medium lvy Green
Metallic............... C Metallic ............... P
Dark Maroon . . . . . B Pastel Blue . . . . . . . N
Grabber Green . . . . Z9 Red . . . . . . . . . . . . . T
Light Gold. . . . . . . 8 Vermilion/Calypso Coral . . . 1
Light Ivy Yellow. . . 2 White . . . . . . . . . . . M

I have never seen in person, in magazines, etc, a 70 Torino in GO. 25 + years is a long time to have never encountered it. Given that Ford had Twister Specials in Mustang and Torino, using GO for the Mustangs and Vermillion for the Torino (as shown) I am very skeptical that Torino pictured is GO. Perhaps there could have been some special, custom DSO order, but I doubt it.

Despite my thousands of pics, which I thought contained one of a 70 Maverick in the "gold" color like the Torino shown, all I have is one of a 72 Gran Torino. But, I know Ive seen a Maverick around here painted that as well as having seen other Ford offerings in that same, bland "gold" color.

As for where that Torino is, its Sweden. SE is the abbreviation.

Heres a 70 Boss 302 that mimics the Torino color, "Bright Gold Metallic":

Heres the 72 I shot in what I conclude is "Medium Goldenrod":

Me too. I own a 72 Sport fastback, like the movie, but in white. It was my first car. Got it Friday, May 20, 88, from the original owner with 47??? miles. I was 20. But yes, a 72 WOULD look fabulous in GO. But then I think ANYTHING looks great in GO.

The Cyclone coming in GO was 'RELATIVELY' common. I even remember seeing ads in magazines where Ford used the GO Cyclone in the form of 'artists rendering' if this makes any sense. I agree that the 70 Torino probably isn't GO. But it IS dang close.

Of course I hope I'm wrong! We can always use another new member!

My dad ordered a 72 sportsroof in white/tan. Mom carried him to pick it up on a Thursday evening on his way to work (worked nights). Friday morning on way home, a woman ran a 4 way stop sign and totaled it!!! I never even got to see it! Dad was sick! Wasn't hurt from wreck, but I can remember him being really really angry
